NEW YORK NIGHTS

Step into the 1920s with Jacqueline Leung's second solo piano album That's the Berries! New York Nights. Opening with one of Gershwin's favourites 'The Man I Love', the album includes 18 rarely recorded but original transcriptions which Gershwin arranged for playing at parties. African American composer Florence Price's 'Andante' from her Piano Sonata follows for a taste of the Deep South, with melancholic and poignant references to spirituals. Completing the disc is Samuel Barber's Souvenirs Op. 28, a set of 6 dances inspired by the afternoon tea sessions at The Plaza hotel in New York City.

Ever since I was a teenager, before I even learnt about the Jazz Age or read The Great Gatsby, I have been drawn to the vintage style... this era was the epitome of classiness and indulgence yet there was a sense of timelessness to it.

IN SUNSHINE OR IN SHADOW

/2018/

This is not your ordinary piano solo album. The repertoire on the disc was inspired by Jacqueline's love of BBC Radio 4's legendary programme Desert Island Discs, and the tracks were chosen for their easily recognisable tunes. Recorded at the celebrated Wiener Konzerthaus, this album is an eclectic mix of 10 pieces ranging from Mozart, Chopin, Bach, Liszt and Saint-Saëns to works by lesser known composers such as Bowen and Longás.

Jacqueline is grateful for the support received from the Kickstarter campaign and HELLO STAGE
